According to analysts at TMR, each key segment in the North America less lethal and self-defense weapons market also holds a number of patents both filed and published between 2012 and 2015, that are expected to influence the markets growth rate between 2015 and 2023. The future growth of this market will also rely on the expressed potential of new entrants such as Salt Supply Co. and ARMA USA.

OMAHA, Neb., Oct. 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — PhaZZer announces that TASER/AXON (AAXN) filed a (now withdrawn) unsupported lawsuit in what appeared to be a last-ditch attempt to stop the PhaZZer Enforcer CEW and cartridges entry as the only viable and accepted competitor by US Law Enforcement. It appears that all other competitors have been silenced through litigation using the TASER 262 patent; which the USPTO Examiner declared invalid on all claims in its FINAL OFFICE ACTION on April 27th 2018 and AFFIRMED on appeal by Patent Trial And Appeal Board (PTAB) on September 27, 2019.

Almost all 18,000 police departments in the U.S. issue their officers Tasers, or stun guns, as a non-lethal alternative to subdue people they might see as a threat. But in a five-part series, Reuters documented more than 1,000 incidents since 2000 in which their Tasers have killed people. Peter Eisler, who co-reported the series, joins Hari Sreenivasan from Washington.

PETER EISLER, REPORTER, REUTERS, HARI SREENIVASAN, PBS NEWSHOUR WEEKEND ANCHOR:
A Jackson, Mississippi newspaper announced recently that the Madison County Sheriffs office is replacing their Tasers® with another nonlethal weapon called a Phazzer that is lighter, smaller and more important to the department-less expensive. Plus the battery life on the Phazzer is a lot longer. They note that the two products are basically the same based on legal backing and research, and they operate the same way with two electrified probes shooting out from the gun.

We were thrilled to learn about the new non-lethal weapons expected to be introduced to the Madison County Sheriffs Office. The best part about it is that the new weapons, called PhaZZers, cost $300 less apiece than the Taser weapons they are going to replace.
